UFMG’S MANAGEMENT, DESIGN AND ADVISORY TEAMS ARE HIGHLY SEASONED EXECUTIVES WITH MORE THAN 200 YEARS OF MARITIME, TECHNOLOGY AND BUSINESS EXPERIENCE.
Dr. Jean-Marc GREGORI has spent more than 10 years as professor at Aix-Marseille working with Aerospacial, Dassault Electronics and others. He has spent more than 30 years in research & development of advanced materials, propulsion systems and hull design; and more than 20 years building, testing and marketing military and luxury ships. In addition, Jean-Marc holds a number of patents for the propulsion system and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) certification.
Robert S. BLOCK is a serial entrepreneur and prolific engineer with more than 50 years experience in the development and monetization of advanced technologies. He has been awarded more than 150 US and foreign patents. Block is widely known for his pioneering work in communications, information and management technologies.
Hubert de Naurois is an adviser to 25 Major International Industrial and State owned companies.
Dr. Jean-Marc GREGORI: UFMG’s hull and ship designs are the result of a lifelong commitment to developing ultra-stable high-speed ships for a variety of missions. Dr. Gregori has added substantially to the work of previous masters in the field.
Leonardo Acciari has more than 40 years of experience in the development of comprehensive engineering specifications for the range force. Mr. Acciari’s team has provided engineering design and support for a wide variety of vessels, notably safe chemical tankers.
Mr. Erbil Serter has more than 50 years of experience in hydrodynamic design of advanced hull forms. He is considered the leading thinker in tank test research. Mr. Serter is the father of the anti-slam Deep V hull, which is fundamental to energy saving. A large number of ships have been built based on Mr. Serter’s extensive and impressive IP portfolio, which is the result of his extensive investment.
Mr. Don Shead has more than 50 years of experience in the research, development, design and engineering of advanced hull forms. Mr. Shead has designed a vast array of ultra high-speed ships, including some of the fastest racing ships every built. He is considered a ‘giant’ in Naval Architecture, especially for his breakthrough work on stable sea-keeping at high speeds.
UFM Group Background
UFM Group was created by Jean-Marc Gregori who surrounded himself with leading Naval Architects, designers, ship builders and suppliers. From its beginning, the UFMG team included the leading professionals in the design and development of Naval vessels, mega yachts and racing boats. These included Erbil Serter, Don Shead and Christophe Tassin
Major affiliated brands include:
- SPERRY MARINE
- VOLVO PENTA
Four generations ago, in France, the Gregori family began designing, building and operating oceangoing vessels and more than 30 years ago Dr. Jean-Marc Gregori (4th generation) began his research at Aix en Provence (University of France, Marseille). Working in conjunction with Aerospatiale and S.E.P. (European Society for Propulsion).
Dr. Gregori developed an expertise on the properties and applications of carbon fiber and composite materials for maritime use. Dr. Gregori also concentrated on the confluence of advanced propulsion, hull design and hydrodynamics. He owns several certificates of WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization).
Over the course of his academic and professional career, Dr. Gregori has headed numerous research projects and published extensively on the need for entirely new hull designs and propulsion systems to meet the needs of 21st century warfare and pleasure. More than 20 years ago Dr. Gregori established his first shipyard. It was near Marseille France. There, he began building the first generations of Force technology vessels, improving each generation with the lessons learned from the previous experience.
Since its inception, the Company has sold more than 50 of the most advanced maritime vessels and submersible high speed craft to some of the most demanding military and civilian clients. Currently UFMG is the provider of choice for the Navies of a Middle East country and a Southeast Asian country. Additionally, UFMG is in negotiations with several other nations for the provisioning of ultra high-speed, ultra-stable vessels for use in their coastal and fishery protection operations. UFM Group is also part of a consortium to provide escort services to safely escort commercial vessels through the Gulf of Aden.
